What is Horizon Power’s System?

Horizon Power runs electricity systems across regional and remote areas of Western Australia. Horizon Power’s system is made up of many stand-alone microgrids, each powering a population centre. These towns are too far apart to warrant connecting the electricity systems together. Each system encompasses the infrastructure, networks, and operations required to generate, distribute, and supply electricity to the electricity customers. Horizon Power must own and operate every part of the system and also sell the electricity to customers and arrange billing like an electricity retailer. https://www.horizonpower.com.au/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horizon_Power

The other electricity system in the south east of WA is the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) which is owned by the WA government, with the poles and wires operated by Western Power.
